Are you ready to put your experience in customs and your business development skills to good use?

To support the expansion of our Customs team, we’re looking for a Manager. Someone who not only has technical expertise but is also eager to be at the forefront and drive the team’s growth. Someone with excellent business development skills and a knack for the commercial side of things, capable of inspiring potential clients to embrace the exciting opportunities that BDO Customs can offer.

What will you be doing?

Help our customers with certifications: You’ll be the go-to expert for our customers as they work on their AEO project. Once they become certified, you’ll be there to make sure they keep that certification.
Make importing and exporting a breeze: You’ll create and set up processes and procedures that make it easy & efficient for our customers to move goods in and out of the country. Plus, you’ll make sure everything is done by the book.
Stay in the know: You’ll be up to date with the latest customs rules and laws, especially the ones in Europe and Belgium. And you’ll help our clients adjust to these changes so they can work smoothly and follow all the rules.
Get everyone on board: You’ll talk to our partners and make sure they understand customs requirements. If our BDO team needs some training, you’ll handle that too.
Work with authorities: You’ll be overseeing physical and administrative controls by customs authorities and make sure everything is in order.
Teach others: As you grow in the role, we’ll count on you to teach others about customs.

What do you bring to the table?

You should possess extensive technical expertise, primarily in customs, and ideally, some knowledge of excise.
A minimum of six years of experience in customs.
Confidence and assertiveness are valuable traits.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English, or French and English, are essential.
You feel comfortable participating in networking events within the sector.
