Angstaanjagend?<\/h1><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\" style=\"--awb-font-size:13px;\"><p>Peter Van Laer, CEO BDO Belgium<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>Met de komst van ChatGPT beleefde de wereld van artifici\u00eble intelligentie (AI) zijn iPhone-moment. Een tijdsgewricht in de geschiedenis van AI, kopte de (vak)pers. Kort daarna sprongen ook de grote jongens op dezelfde kar. Wat het momentum extra aandikte en de relevantie onderstreepte. ChatGPT of voluit Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer klinkt veeleer buitenaards dan menselijk. Nochtans is de chatbot gespecialiseerd in het voeren van dialogen op een zo menselijk mogelijke manier. Ik experimenteerde zelf ook al en moet toegeven \u2026 de resultaten ogen op het eerste gezicht wonderlijk. En ik ben niet de enige: amper vijf dagen na de lancering overschreed het aantal registraties de magische kaap van \u00e9\u00e9n miljoen gebruikers. Facebook had 10 maanden nodig, Instagram 10 weken.<\/p>\n<p>Schreef ChatGPT hiermee een stukje geschiedenis? De kans is groot. Met elke stap die we vorderen binnen AI vervagen de grenzen tussen menselijke activiteit en machinegebaseerde acties \u2013 denk ook aan deepfake in beeldvorming en -bewerking. Dat kan beangstigend overkomen, toch blijft het een venster op een onafwendbare toekomst: de menselijke activiteit die in steeds sterkere mate wordt ondersteund door digitale, al dan niet artificieel intelligente hulpmiddelen.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-reading-box-container reading-box-container-1\" style=\"--awb-title-color:#333333;--awb-margin-top:0px;--awb-margin-bottom:30px;\"><div class=\"reading-box\" style=\"background-color:#f6f6f6;border-width:0px;border-color:#f6f6f6;border-left-width:3px;border-left-color:var(--primary_color);border-style:solid;\"><div class=\"fusion-reading-box-flex\"><h2>\u201cAI opent een venster op een onafwendbare toekomst.\u201d<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\" style=\"--awb-margin-top-small:0px;--awb-margin-right-small:0px;--awb-margin-bottom-small:20px;--awb-margin-left-small:0px;\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\">Door en voor mensen gedreven<\/h3><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>Critici zoomen in op de \u2013 vaak terechte \u2013 tekortkomingen van de chatbots. Tegelijk maken mensen zich zorgen over de groeiende dominantie en dommakende afhankelijkheid van algoritmes in ons werken en leven. We moeten uiteraard kritisch blijven, maar mogen de voordelen niet verdoezelen. Algoritmes en technologie redden ook levens en onbewust krijgen ze al ons vertrouwen in tal van bijna onzichtbare toepassingen, zoals hulpsystemen bij het autorijden (antislip, ABS, botsingdetectie, \u2026). Zouden we die nog kunnen, laat staan willen missen? Als technologieoptimist geloof ik dat de nieuwe AI-mogelijkheden versneld een plaats zullen verwerven in onze dagelijkse activiteiten zowel zakelijk als priv\u00e9. Maar zoals bij elke innovatiedoorbraak, zullen we rekening moeten houden met kinderziektes en ethische vraagstukken.<\/p>\n<p>AI is de lang verwachte volgende kwantumsprong in de digitalisering van onze bedrijven en maatschappij. Een intelligente, door en voor mensen gedreven digitalisering die onze productiviteit en het leven an sich ondersteunt. Ze biedt de uitgelezen kans om de zgn. productiviteitsparadox(*) te doorbreken. Ik zie voor bots zoals ChatGPT immers veel mogelijkheden in adviesverlening, software-engineering, marketing, \u2026 Koppel dat aan een optimale kruisbestuiving tussen de massa data die we de voorbije jaren hebben opgebouwd en we kunnen bergen verzetten. Zonder AI kan ons menselijk brein de exponenti\u00eble groei aan beschikbare data onmogelijk, laat staan slagkrachtig en kosteneffici\u00ebnt verwerken. Onze hersenen hebben zo\u2019n snelle rekenkracht niet. Desondanks zullen de mensen moeten blijven tussenkomen om uit de resultaten die kennis te filteren die daadwerkelijk relevant en zinvol is.
